  • Avalon Theater: The Avalon Theatre is a historic theater located in downtown Easton, Maryland. Originally built as a cinema in 1921, The Avalon was billed as the "Showplace of the Eastern Shore."   • Harriet Tubman Railroad Visitor Center: The Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center opened to the public in March 2017 in Church Creek on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Harriet Tubman, who grew up in slavery in Dorchester County, lived, worked, and worshipped in places near the visitor center. It’s from this area that she first escaped slavery, and where she returned about 13 times over a decade, risking her life time and again to lead some 70 friends and family members to freedom.   • The Cheseapeake Bay Maritime Museum: Located in St. Michaels, Maryland, United States and home to a collection of Chesapeake Bay artifacts, exhibitions, and vessels.   • Waterfowl Festival: Around 1970, a group of Eastern Shore sportsmen and women conceived an event that would ultimately grow into a regional tradition spanning generations – the Waterfowl Festival. This has become a community wide celebration of the culture and heritage of the Eastern Shore.   • Plein Air Easton Art: Plein Air Easton is the largest and most prestigious juried plein air painting competition in the United States in July. Plein air painters produce art from life (as opposed to in the studio). Artists from all over the United States and beyond apply to this competition beginning December 1st of the previous year.  Many of the world's most accomplished artists have Easton at the top of their wish list of competitions and we will continue to set the bar for excellence in the coming year.   • Talbot Historical Society Museum and Gardens: This museum features more than 1,000 photos from the Society’s world-class collection, as well as priceless artifacts. Outdoors, the award-winning gardens showcase mature boxwood, a terraced shade garden, an herb garden, fully established perennial beds, and fruit and flowering trees. A retail and consignment shop offers both antique and modern housewares and accessories so visitors can take some history home.   • The Old Wye Grist Mill: The mill is located in the town of Wye Mills, on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It is the oldest continuously operated water powered grist mill in the U.S. and the oldest commercial structure in continuous use in the State of Maryland. Founded in 1682, the has a long and fascinating history and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.   • Christmas In St. Michaels: This event is held annually in historic St. Michaels, Maryland. For more than a quarter century, visitors and residents have celebrated the arrival of the Christmas season during this weekend.
